Anyone in the interoperability market space knows Proficiency the small Israeli company who took on feature interoperability, one of the toughest problems in the business. And they did a very commendable job at it. Their customers love their solutions. Trouble is, there werent enough of them, fast enough. The feature translation problem is notoriously challenging, and often unique to each company. For Proficiency, time was already getting short, and then the economy tubed. Its great to see ITI TranscenData step up and keep this technology and people advancing this excellent toolset.

And Proficiency had their hands so full with features, they didnt want to invest a lot of time and money in everyday interoperability features, like STEP or IGES translators, and quality validation tools like TranscenDatas renown CADIQ product. This acquisition is a natural fit. Two very smart, very talented companies - now one.
